al hikmah

Al-Jumu’ah (62):2

He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger (Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)) from among themselves, reciting to them His Verses, purifying them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them the Book (this Qur’ân, Islâmic laws and Islâmic jurisprudence) and Al-Hikmah (As-Sunnah: legal ways, orders, acts of worship, etc. of Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)). And verily, they had been before in mainfest error;

Al-Ahzab (33):34

And remember (O you the members of the Prophet’s family, the Graces of your Lord), that which is recited in your houses of the Verses of Allâh and AlHikmah (i.e. Prophet’s Sunnah legal ways, etc. so give your thanks to Allâh and glorify His Praises for this Qur’an and the Sunnah). Verily, Allâh is Ever Most Courteous, WellAcquainted with all things.

Al-Baqarah (2):231

And when you have divorced women and they have fulfilled the term of their prescribed period, either take them back on reasonable basis or set them free on reasonable basis. But do not take them back to hurt them, and whoever does that, then he has wronged himself. And treat not the Verses (Laws) of Allâh as a jest, but remember Allâh’s Favours on you (i.e. Islâm), and that which He has sent down to you of the Book (i.e. the Qur’ân) and Al-Hikmah (the Prophet’s Sunnah – legal ways – Islâmic jurisprudence, etc.) whereby He instructs you. And fear Allâh, and know that Allâh is All-Aware of everything.

Al-Baqarah (2):151

Similarly (to complete My Blessings on you) We have sent among you a Messenger (Muhammad ) of your own, reciting to you Our Verses (the Qur’ân) and sanctifying you, and teaching you the Book (the Qur’ân) and the Hikmah (i.e. Sunnah, Islâmic laws and Fiqh – jurisprudence), and teaching you that which you used not to know.

Aali Imran (3):164

Indeed Allâh conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger (Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)) from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses (the Qur’ân), and purifying them (from sins by their following him), and instructing them (in) the Book (the Qur’ân) and AlHikmah [the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) (i.e. his legal ways, statements, acts of worship, etc.)], while before that they had been in manifest error.

Al-Baqarah (2):129

“Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own (and indeed Allâh answered their invocation by sending Muhammad Peace be upon him ), who shall recite unto them Your Verses and instruct them in the Book (this Qur’ân) and Al-Hikmah (full knowledge of the Islâmic laws and jurisprudence or wisdom or Prophethood, etc.), and sanctify them. Verily! You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.”

An-Nisa (4):113

Had not the Grace of Allâh and His Mercy been upon you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)), a party of them would certainly have made a decision to mislead you, but (in fact) they mislead none except their own selves, and no harm can they do to you in the least. Allâh has sent down to you the Book (The Qur’ân), and AlHikmah (Islâmic laws, knowledge of legal and illegal things i.e. the Prophet’s Sunnah – legal ways), and taught you that which you knew not. And Ever Great is the Grace of Allâh unto you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)).

Allah (subhaanahuwata`aalaa) has told us about the duty of Rasoolullaah (sallallaahu`alaihiwasallam) with respect to the Qur’ân, where Allah (subhaanahuwata`aalaa) said:
And We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought.” [Qur’ân 16:44]

Allah also made it clear to us that the duty of Rasoolullaah (sallallaahu`alaihiwasallam) is to clarify the truth to people when there is a dispute:
“And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou should make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe.” [Qur’ân 16:64]

We are obligated to follow any ruling by Rasoolullaah Muhammad (sallallaahu`alaihiwasallam) in any dispute:
“But no, by the Lord, they can have no (real) Faith, until they make thee judge in all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against Thy decisions, but accept them with the fullest conviction.” [Qur’ân 4:65]

Allah also mentioned that Rasoolullaah (sallallaahu`alaihiwasallam) was given the Qur’ân and Wisdom to teach people the regulations of their religion:
“Allah did confer a great favour on the believers when He sent among them an apostle from among themselves, rehearsing unto them the Signs of Allah, sanctifying them, and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom, while, before that, they had been in manifest error.” [Qur’ân 3:164]
